Although most of my work is built to my own designs, I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with, and learn from, design professionals looking for meticulous workmanship and sound counsel. It's deeply satisfying to me to find ways to realize someone else's idea: a choice of material, an engineering solution, or a suggestion to improve use, as with the lion cabinets shown. In the original design, the cabinets' sides continued all the way to the top, into which a small halogen spot was to be fitted. I showed how the "ceiling" could cantilevered, opening up the sculptures to view, with no sacrifice of structural integrity.
